Yes, you were having an out-of-body experience. We call it that, but in reality all that was happening was that you were relaxing the link between the body and your mind. Your mind, then, could see the physical realm for what it is, and you could go to the universe, wherever you wished. There are no limitations on the mind. When you decided to end the OBE, you were brought back to the focus on the body. You weren't dying. You were just relaxing your focus on the physical realm. Do it again at will and don't worry about it.
