Hello Dan,

You asked,
Since our spirit transcends upon death, does our body essentially become disposable?

It always was disposable. It never was you. It changed from infancy through adulthood, throwing off and renewing every atom once a year. It got sick and lost teeth and developed arthritis. It's just a fleshy vehicle you get into and drive awhile, then get out of and leave behind.

So the body has no real value now, and it will have even less value when you leave it behind and don't even know what happened to it. Where is the overcoat you wore around when you were 15 years old? Do you care where it is? That's what the body will be like.

Does it matter how we are 'finalized' - burial or cremation, here on Earth?

It makes no difference. You aren't in the body. I have heard that it would be better to leave the body for several days before doing anything to it just because the person is still hanging around, but not in the body, and might not like to see what's being done to it. But you don't need to watch! And I don't know if that's true. In any event, no, the body is going to deteriorate, either quickly or slowly. Meanwhile, the real person is with his or her loved ones, learning about how blissful eternal life is, not caring a nit for where the body is.

Love and peace, Craig
