If you're looking for a good place to start, go to Crookall's The Supreme Adventure. It is a compilation of the descriptions of the afterlife from a broad range of mediums. I also recommend the recordings on my Web site at http://adcguides.com. They are people speaking from the afterlife.
For the descriptions of people speaking from the afterlife from the history of spiritualism, read Mike Tymn's new book, The Afterlife Revealed.
