We refer to the lower planes as though they were a single level and people were living on that level. It isn't like that. It's much more like the earth plane's different groups of people. On the earth plane, there are people who are cruel, violent, and insensitive. They live with others who are also cruel, violent, and insensitive. They are in turmoil because of it. They don't treat each other well, are often in fights, and may be murdered. But they're in groups all around the world whose environments are different. They are on their own levels of consciousness, in different surroundings. Every group of people like that is like what people refer to as a lower level on the next planes of life. It isn't a level in a physical sense. It's a state of consciousness. And there are many different groups or environments that suit people on that level of consciousness. Because people are more attuned to feelings of negative and positive energy when they drop off the physical body, these places feel heavy, depressed, and negative. They give the impression of being darker. But it's only because the consciousness of the people living there is negative, cruel, insensitive, and self-absorbed. Those are the lower levels.
