My close friend, my dog, died 2 days ago. She was an enormous piece of my happiness. My other dog died one year ago. The two losses have hammered me to pieces. To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement.

I would like to believe in an afterlife and that they'll be there, but unfortuneately, I still have doubts.

I dread the thought of turning out the light tonight and trying to go to sleep. I dread the thought of waking up tomorrow and not having the pleasure of feeding her and walking her...ever again. The finality of it all is tearing me to pieces.
